The Kivalliq Inuit Association has ten elected members who govern the KIA, and represent all Inuit of the Kivalliq Region. The Board of Directors provides political direction for the organization, and develops and monitors policies that direct the operations of the organization.
Each Board member is elected for a term of three years, except for the President, who has a four-year term. The Board has a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary-Treasurer, and seven community Directors from each of the Kivalliq communities.
