Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link Takes Next Important Steps in its Development

RANKIN INLET, NU – Last month the Kivalliq Inuit Association (KIA) and Sakku Investments
Corporation (Sakku) together welcomed the endorsement of the Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link in
the 2021 Federal Budget as a clear signal that the clean energy and broadband project is
advancing to bring renewable electricity and high speed Internet to the Kivalliq region of
Nunavut.

KIA to hold regular board meeting in Rankin Inlet

The Kivalliq Inuit Association will hold a board meeting on May 4 and 5, 2021 at the Siniktarvik Hotel Conference Centre in Rankin Inlet. The public are welcome to attend the meetings in person but please note that the meeting room is subject to Covid-19 restrictions for capacity.

Government of Nunavut Prospecting Program Applications

The Government of Nunavut, Department of Economic Development of Transportation announced that they will be accepting applications to the Nunavut Prospectors Program starting on May 12m 2021. The Kivalliq Inuit Association would like to encourage any and all Inuit prospectors and apply to this program.
Did you know if you apply for the GN Prospectors Program, you would qualify to receive funding support from the KIA Business Development Program?

The KIA is moving application forms to become available only On-line.

The Kivalliq Inuit Association is making a transition to move all programs and services application processes to be filled and submitted only with the online application.
The first program application to go online only is the application for the Traditional Economy Fund Grant. From this point on, the KIA will only accept online applications for this program.
